USC Canada

Lotta Hitschmanova founded the Unitarian Service Committee of Canada (USC Canada) in 1945 and led the organization until the early 1980s.

Today, USC Canada “promotes vibrant family farms, strong rural communities and healthy ecosystems around the world, by focussing on activities that build food and livelihood security for small-scale farmers and preserve the agricultural biodiversity necessary to feeding a growing and changing planet.”
