In 1945, six Unitarian congregations – in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton, Winnipeg and Vancouver – joined forces with Dr. Lotta and established the Unitarian Service Committee of Canada, to offer aid to war-torn, post-World War II European communities and refugees.
Lotta forged close ties with Unitarians across the country, and her bust can be seen to this day at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa.
